Where Did This Program Originate?

Over an eight-year period, an energetic and industrious AgriScience instructor at a Virginia middle school developed a modular-based AgriScience program. This instructor continually searched for innovative ways of incorporating new technologies into traditional AgriScience subject matters and presentations. The data and experiences gathered from those eight years of research and design now serves as the core of DEPCO, LLC’s AgriScience programs.

Finding Success!

By organizing the AgriScience program into modules and projects, the instructor was able to teach multiple subjects simultaneously while increasing the volume of content covered in a single class period. Students responded extremely well to the modular structure of the AgriScience program, which resulted in a rise of student enrollment, especially with the female student population and other students of various backgrounds.

Who Is AgriScience Basics For?

AgriScience Basics was designed to seamlessly integrate into any and all pre-existing Agricultural programs while also acting as basic building blocks for future programs. The AgriScience Basics program enriches the teaching of technical topics through curriculum that is effective, simple, and fun!

AgriScience Basics at a Glance

DEPCO’s AgriScience Basics program consists of eight 5-day modules, plus Metalworking and Woodworking Projects, as well as several group projects. The program covers a wide range of agricultural-related topics such as Aquaponics, Food Science, and Soil Science. DEPCO’s own MediaPLUS and ClassPLUS are incorporated into the AgriScience Basics program.

Multimedia Curriculum

MediaPLUS, a multimedia based curriculum, provides an interactive and entertaining approach to learning that appeals to students across the board. ClassPLUS is an electronic classroom management system that promotes student/instructor interaction by eliminating time spent away from the students and outside the classroom.
