Career Experiences Technology Learning Units introduce students to specific careers by having them work with industry-standard equipment and complete challenging real-world projects. Students gather information and assess each career according to its various concepts and academic disciplines. After completion of the Career Experiences program, students possess a thorough understanding of the many different technological careers offered in the world.

Career Paths

DEPCO's Career Experiences lab introduces high school students to a wide variety of level one and two applied technology subjects in career areas such as Manufac- turing, Power and Energy, Transportation, Construction, and Communications. The invaluable experiences and relevant knowledge students acquire will help them in future life-forming decisions.

Challenging Curriculum

DEPCO provides students with a well-rounded educational experience by placing heavy emphasis on academic proficiency through the inclusion of subjects, such as chemistry, math, physics, and computer studies. The self-directed Career Experiences' curriculum is designed to challenge each student while supplying an enjoyable and engaging learning environment. Instructors discover that by utilizing the Career Experiences' curriculum in their classrooms, students learn more quickly and retain larger amounts of knowledge, while having a fun time.

Industry-Standard Learning

Career Experiences requires students to use industry-standard equipment to per- form many complex and important tasks throughout each module. By using such high quality equipment students become familiar with machines and software that professionals are currently using out in the field. All equipment supplied by DEPCO is carefully selected according to relevance, reliability, and the promise to excite students and keep their interest.

Learning Methods

No two students learn alike and that is why the Career Experiences' curriculum supplies several informational avenues to help every student learn to the best of their ability. DEPCO's modules contain graphically enriched and easy to read student manuals, multimedia computer presentations, and industry-standard equipment and tools. Although one learning approach may be more desirable to a particular student than the other, all approaches supply identical information and guarantee the same result.
