Ready 4 Careers: Modular Family and Consumer Sciences Program

DEPCO’s Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum, Ready 4 Careers, is a modular-based, hands-on career exploration program that is designed for 5th through 8th graders. It helps students to explore career options and assists with school-to-work career goals. In addition, basic living skills are taught and reinforced in this DEPCO program.

Ready 4 Careers touches on numerous FACS career areas, giving students valuable knowledge and hands-on experiences. In addition, DEPCO has incorporated AAFCS standards in each of our modules.

Ready 4 Careers Curriculum Framework

Each module contains eleven activities, which include ten primary and an enrichment activity. The combination of these self-directed modules, organized group activities, and individual student projects provide a multitude of Family and Consumer Sciences lessons.

Classroom Management

ClassPLUS is an electronic classroom management system that promotes student/instructor interaction by eliminating time spent away from the students and outside the classroom.

Multimedia Curriculum

All of the Ready 4 Careers’ nine multimedia curriculum titles are delivered by the innovative MediaPLUS. Students complete hands-on activities with the help of professional narrations, exciting full color animations, challenging interactions, relevant photographs, interesting video clips, and much more!

Each ten-day module also includes a detailed step-by-step student workbook. It is illustrated with full color photographs and charts. Using DEPCO’s quality curriculum and durable equipment, students are assured successful completion of each career-specific project!
